Constituents tell David Cameron: Act on Climate Change

Oxfordshire’s just had some of its worst flooding in decades, including in David Cameron’s own constituency. The Prime Minister has gone as far as to connect it to climate change… but we need strong policy action from him, too.

Next week, Cameron will be at an EU climate summit in Brussels, negotiating an EU climate deal that will shape Europe's carbon emissions and renewable energy development until 2030. That's a big deal but, if the targets are strong enough they could also unlock global ambition.

So 30 local supporters of Greenpeace, Oxfam, CAFOD and 38 Degrees packed out a bookshop in Witney to launch an open letter to their MP David Cameron. The letter has already been signed by almost 400 constituents and calls on their MP to demonstrate strong leadership at the EU summit next week by demanding more ambitious climate and energy targets.
