Concern Universal

Concern Universal

Concern Universal is an international development organisation tackling poverty from the grassroots. We create opportunities for people around the world to improve their lives and shape their own futures. By building skills and connecting people at all levels in society, we help communities deliver practical solutions with long term impact. Working with partner organisations, we support community projects that improve livelihoods, promote greater equality and reduce vulnerability. To achieve this, we also influence policy, pioneer business partnerships and engage public support for our approach.
Concern

Concern Worldwide Scotland

Concern Worldwide is a non governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern’s mission is to help people who live in extreme poverty to achieve major improvements in their lives without ongoing external support. This is achieved through long-term development work, responding to emergency situations and seeking to address the root causes of poverty through campaigning, development education and advocacy work.
Islamic Relief

Islamic Relief

Islamic Relief is an international aid and development charity, which aims to alleviate the suffering of the world's poorest people. Inspired by our Islamic faith and guided by our values, we envisage a caring world where communities are empowered, social obligations are fulfilled and people respond as one to the suffering of others. Exemplifying our Islamic values, we mobilise resources, build partnerships, and develop local capacity regardless of race, political affiliation, gender or belief, and without expecting anything in return.

NE-CAP

North East Call to Action on Poverty

North East CALL TO ACTION (‘NE-CAP’) is one of the country’s leading regional coalitions campaigning on global poverty and climate change. We have representatives in most North East constituencies and hope to soon secure complete coverage. All our officers are NGO staff or voluntary representatives and we seek to mobilise and coordinate support for their campaigning. We arranged coaches from every city, town and village in the NE (well, almost!) to London for The Wave in 2009.
Oxfam

Oxfam GB

Oxfam is a global movement of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. It's an injustice which can, and must, be overcome. We fight poverty at its roots, with simple, smart solutions. When injustice causes poverty, we stand against it. When disasters hit, we're ready around the clock to save and protect people, staying long after, leaving life better than before.
