Join people from across Scotland at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and ask your MSPs to push for a strong Climate Change Act.
In May this year, the Scottish Government laid its proposed new Climate Change Bill in the Scottish Parliament. Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS) was hugely disappointed by the level of ambition and action it contains.
There is a long way to go before the Climate Change Bill is finalised and voted on by MSPs at the Scottish Parliament. That's expected to happen in spring 2019). Between now and then, MSPs have the opportunity to listen to their constituents, take evidence and make amendments to the Bill.
Join us at Holyrood to show MSPs the strength of support for a strong Scottish Climate Change Act.
Everyone taking part will receive a full briefing in advance to help you talk to your MSP about the action we need. Or you can simply explain why you’re concerned about climate change and why you feel it’s important they take action.
The lobby will take place at lunchtime on Wednesday 19th September, outside the Scottish Parliament. Places must be booked in advance - book your place now!
Don’t worry if you can’t make it along to Edinburgh on the day – we’ll be arranging opportunities for local lobbying later on in the year. Get in touch if you’d be willing to be part of this in your community.
This event is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, a diverse coalition of organisations campaigning together on climate change.
*Please note the lobby takes place from 12.30-2.00pm, however supporters are invited to join us at a nearby venue from 10.30am, and again for refreshments following the lobby.
