Joy in Enough: awakening new economics

‘Joy in Enough’ is CEL’s campaign to promote a new way of thinking about the economy. Join with CEL, A Rocha, SPEAK and others as we seek to empower ordinary people to take back the economy from the economic elite, understand the alternatives, and seek a role the Church can play in the transformation.

Saturday 29 March, 11am to 5pm, Carrs Lane Church Centre, Birmingham B4 7SX
(close to Birmingham New Street railway station).

Keynote talk from Dan O’Neill to identify political/economic alternatives to growth economics. Dan is lecturer in ecological economics at the University of Leeds; and chief economist at the Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy (CASSE).

This conference is part of the on-going ‘Joy in Enough’ project that Christian Ecology Link (CEL) has begun with SPEAK and A Rocha.

Group work to identify key aspects of economic, political and cultural transition will be led by members of the ‘Joy in Enough’ working groups set up earlier this year.

Bookings for the conference are now open.
