Friends of the Earth Scotland

Friends of the Earth Scotland is Scotland’s leading environmental campaigning organisation, and an independent Scottish charity with a network of thousands of supporters and active local groups across Scotland. We are part of the largest grassroots environmental network in the world, uniting over 2 million supporters, 77 national member groups, and some 5,000 local activist groups - covering every continent. We exist to help people in Scotland look after the planet for everyone’s future. We think globally and act locally in Scotland, delivering solutions to climate change by enabling and empowering people to take both individual and collective action.

Oxfam GB

Oxfam is a global movement of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. It's an injustice which can, and must, be overcome. We fight poverty at its roots, with simple, smart solutions. When injustice causes poverty, we stand against it. When disasters hit, we're ready around the clock to save and protect people, staying long after, leaving life better than before.
Peace Child International

PeaceChild International

Peace Child International empowers young people to inform themselves and then take action, to be the change they want to see in the world.
People and Planet

People & Planet

People & Planet is the largest student network in Britain campaigning to end world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment. We’re a student-led movement that empowers young people with the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to make change happen, at home and globally.

Peopleriver works to engage more and more people - helping them take action on the campaigns and causes that they care about, by spreading the word and highlighting opportunities – locally, nationally and internationally. They build stronger relationships between organisations and their supporters by placing an emphasis on the many different ways in which people can participate, rather then just focusing on monetary donations. Together we are a real force for good.
Plantlife International

Plantlife International

Our wild flowers and other plants are wonderful, not just for the beauty they bring to our lives but for the vital role they play in supporting wildlife, cleaning our air and water and helping in the fight against climate change. Plantlife is the charity that is speaking up for the nation’s wild plants. We work hard to protect wild plants and to build understanding of the important role they play in everyone’s lives.
Population Matters

Population Matters

Population Matters is a membership charity working for a global population size providing a good standard of living for all, a healthy environment and environmental sustainability. We carry out research, provide educational services and lobby for policies which lead to the stabilization and gradual decrease in population to sustainable levels.
Portsmouth Climate Action Network

Portsmouth Climate Action Network

The Portsmouth Climate Action Network wants to see action on climate change in the Portsmouth area. We put pressure on the local council, respond to consultations, attend meetings, support national campaigns and spread the word through links with other groups, stalls, talks, displays and our annual Summer Fair.
Practical Action

Practical Action

Practical Action uses technology to challenge poverty in developing countries, working in over 40 countries across the world. Our strength is our approach. We find out what people are doing and help them to do it better. Through technology we enable poor communities to build on their skills and knowledge to produce sustainable and practical solutions. Thus transforming their lives forever and protecting the world around them. By doing this each year we help around a million people break out of the cycle of poverty ….for good.
Preserve the Rainforest

Preserve the Rainforest Guyana Campaign

We are a small independent campaign group of volunteers. Millions of acres of Guyana rainforest, a vital carbon sink in the climate system and vital biome, are at threat. We as a group have campaigned on behalf of rainforest retention in Guyana.

For the communities we work alongside in 11 countries worldwide, climate change is also water change. And water’s vital for development. That’s why we support small-scale farmers to grow drought-resistant crops, or reduce their vulnerability to flooding. And why we work with public authorities to make sure fair and sustainable access to water for people in poor communities is a priority from Peru to Yemen. And it’s why we successfully lobbied for action on water to be included in the UNFCCC process. We also work throughout the UK to change lifestyles and policies with our brilliant community of supporters. We’re Progressio. People powered development.
