Climate Change: Myth, Morals, Money

The lecture, organised by Scotland’s 2020 Climate Group will feature The Right Reverend James Jones, former Bishop of Liverpool.

The Bishop will draw on his time as a parliamentary spokesperson on climate change for the Church of England, to speak about the moral implications for climate change and climate change justice. He will challenge us all to think about our carbon activities in relation to society as a whole and question where our responsibilities as Scottish citizens lie.

Following the lecture, we will have a stimulating panel discussion, chaired by Louise MacDonald, Chief Executive of YoungScot and Vice Chair of the Group. It will offer an opportunity for delegates to pose questions to panel members listed below:

  • Zarina Ahmad, Council for Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations (Scotland)
  • Ian Marchant, Scotland’s 2020 Climate Group
  • Alastair McIntosh, Independent Scholar, Activist, Writer and Broadcaster
  • Professor Michael Northcott, University of Edinburgh
  • Kate Rawles, Outdoor Philosopher and Author
  • Humza Yousaf MSP, Minister for External Affairs and International Development
