Climate and Development: A Perfect Storm?

A panel discussion hosted by the Parliamentary Friends of CAFOD.

Panel members:

Sir David King, The Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change
Chris Bain, Director of CAFOD
CAFOD Partner, to be confirmed
Chaired by Rt. Hon. Tom Clarke MP

Climate change is emerging as the top threat to sustainable poverty reduction, hitting the poorest hardest and increasing inequality. How to address climate change whilst ending poverty is possibly the biggest development challenge we now face.

Sir David King was appointed as The Foreign Secretary’s new Special Representative for Climate Change in September 2013 and was previously the Governments Chief Scientific Advisor. He is a leading voice in the debate surrounding climate change and remains active in academic research.

Chris Bain has been the Director of CAFOD since 2003 and will give a  perspective of how climate change is affecting the communities CAFOD works with.
